Terms of sale and licence.

These terms apply when you buy a Pro licence for one of our WordPress plugins on bigbad.agency. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, email hello@bigbad.agency before you buy.

Who you are buying from

Big Bad Agency, 1616 1 St NE, Calgary, AB, Canada ("we", "us").

What you are buying

A Pro licence for one plugin. It unlocks that plugin's Pro features on a set number of WordPress sites, and comes with Pro updates and email support. Each plugin page lists what Pro adds. The tiers are:

  • 1 Site: one site.
  • 5 Sites: up to five sites.
  • Agency: unlimited sites in practice. The key accepts up to 999 sites; if you need more, email us.

A site counts once the Pro plugin is activated on it with your key. You can move a licence by deactivating it on one site and activating it on another. To move up a tier, email us and you pay the difference.

Price and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars. The total on the checkout page is what you pay.
  • You pay once, by card, through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Nothing renews automatically, and we never charge your card again without a new order from you.

Delivery

When your order is completed, your licence key is emailed to the address you entered at checkout. You enter the key in the Pro plugin's licence screen on your site to activate it.

How long it lasts

Pro is priced per year. Your purchase includes 12 months of Pro updates and email support from the date of purchase. To keep receiving updates and support after that, you buy the licence again at the price on the plugin page.

Your licence key is never switched off when the year ends: Pro keeps working on the sites you activated. Only new versions and support stop until you renew.

Using the licence

  • Use it on as many sites as your tier allows, for your own sites or for client sites you build or manage.
  • Do not share, sell or publish your licence key, and do not use it to unlock more sites than your tier covers.
  • Pro needs to reach our licence server at bigbad.agency to confirm your key and to fetch updates. The privacy policy says exactly what it sends.
  • Where a plugin's own files carry an open-source licence, that licence governs the code. These terms govern the licence key, updates and support.

Free plugins

Our free plugins are released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. They cost nothing, need no licence key, and you may use, change and share them under that licence. They come as they are, with no warranty.

Updates and support

While your 12 months run, Pro updates arrive through the normal WordPress plugin updates screen, and you can email hello@bigbad.agency with your licence key for help. Support means help installing and setting up the plugin, and fixing faults in it. It does not include custom development.

Refunds

You can get a full refund on request within 12 months of purchase. When we refund an order we deactivate its licence key. See the refund policy for how to ask.

No other warranty

We build our plugins carefully and fix the faults you report, but we cannot promise they will be free of errors or work with every theme, plugin and host. Apart from what these terms say, and to the extent the law allows, the plugins are provided without warranties of any kind. Keep backups of your site.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about a Pro licence is limited to the amount you paid for that licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Ending a licence

If a licence key is shared, resold or used beyond its tier, we may deactivate it after telling you why by email. A refunded licence is deactivated as described above.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Alberta, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force on the day you bought applies to that purchase. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
